Laziz is finally in his big enclosure!

Rescued from Khan Younis Zoo in Gaza

The Khan Younis Zoo was, at the time, dubbed the "worst zoo in the world" by the media when animals were found to be living among other mummified animals, who had died as a result of the conflict in Palestine.

Laziz, a Bengal tiger was the last surviving tiger in the zoo and was rescued by FOUR PAWS, before taking on the long trip from Gaza to his new home in South Africa at LIONSROCK Big Cats Sanctuary. He has adjusted well to his new life in the sanctuary, enjoying his own wading pool, his spacious enclosure, and enrichments to keep him busy and entertained.

After all that he has endured, Laziz has flourished in his new home, and showed everyone that he is a real tiger at heart!
